特习会后中国人权案件前景不明

曾为诺贝尔奖得主刘晓波义务担任国际法律顾问、并曾代理其他中国政治犯的人权律师根瑟（Jared Genser）也呼吁美国之外的国家进行声援。“如果我们想要看到个案的推进，习近平需要持续、公开听到更多政府的声音，不单是美国政府。”

白奥兰表示，美欧的杠杆是贸易和商业关系。她说，尽管北京可能不愿改善其人权纪录，但与外国的贸易关系仍十分关键，可能成为一个脆弱的施压点。“因为他们想要与欧美做生意…他们想要证明他们是一个伙伴，而我们应该使用这一杠杆。”

The best way leading Lais release is stopping giving him any awards and supports from the Western world publicly. As long as the CCP thought Lai would not be a threat, he would probably be released secretly. The Westerners always wanted to see their win show over CCP through political and media pressure in order to show the supremacy of democracy.
