Cook 1- Full Time Position (UBC Vancouver)
We're looking to fill a cook 1 position in our food service operation in UBC. This a permanent full time position, working 5 days a week, 1.00pm to 9.00pm with Weekends off
SJC Culinary Service operates a meal plan service for a large group of international graduate student residents living on campus in UBC. We serve breakfasts and dinners to these residents six days a week and our menu reflects the multicultural aspect of our resident community. We also provide catering services and hold events within our facility.
We're looking for an experienced cook to support our full time chefs as we continue to increase our meal service for the residents. Experienced and knowledgeable in international cuisines, Chinese and Asian cuisines will be considered as an asset . Banqueting and catering experiences are additional strengths . Candidates who are committed, hard working, responsible and a team player would feel very much at home within our small, dedicated and close knit team.
Your duties will include:
-Preparing and serving meals
-Preparing food for our catering events
-Assisting in receiving and storage of food and supplies
-Keeping your work station and kitchen prep area clean
-Supervising Junior cooks, kitchen helpers and dishwashers
-Closing the kitchen
-any other kitchen related duties as directed
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 Years of Cooking Experience
- Food Safe 1
- Courteous and positive attitude
